Golf: All-American Day 1 Ragin’ Cajuns Golf Team Sixth After Day 1 of All-American Golf ClassicJustin Lowe paced the Cajuns tying for fifth after two rounds. HOUSTON, Texas-Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns golf team concluded the first two rounds of the All-American Golf Classic at the Tradition at Cypresswood. The Cajuns finished the day in sixth place. The Cajuns shot an opening round of 300 and cut some strokes in the second round to shoot a 290 in the second round. The Cajuns first day score of 590 is just six strokes behind the opening day leader Kansas. The host Houston is tied with Middle Tennessee for second at 586, while Lamar and Southeastern Louisiana are tied for fourth at 587. Leading the way for the Ragin’ Cajuns was Justin Lowe. The junior shot a two-over par round of 74 to start the day and finished with a two-under par round of 70. Devin Carrey was next for the Cajuns. Carrey finished four-over par after back-to-back rounds of 74, to finish the day in a tie for 16th. Morgan Landry and Peter Badawy both finished the day in a tie for 31st. Landry shot consecutive rounds of 75, while Badawy opened the day with a 77 and rebounded with a one-over par round of 73. Rounding out the scoring for the Cajuns was Michael Smith. Smith shot an opening round of 78, but recovered in the second round by shooting a one-over par 73. The Cajuns will conclude play in the All-American Classic on Tuesday.
