Golf: Squire Creek Day 2 Cajuns Conclude Squire Creek InvitationalMichael Smith led the Cajuns with an 11th place finish. RUSTON, La.-Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns men’s golf team concluded the Louisiana Tech/Squire Creek Invitational with a ninth place finish. The tournament, which was shortened due to inclement weather in the Ruston area, completed the only round of competition on Tuesday afternoon. The Ragin’ Cajuns carded an eight over-par round of 296 to finish the day in ninth place. Sam Houston State took home the tournament championship, while tournament host Louisiana Tech finished the day in 12th place. Individually for the Cajuns, Michael Smith scored a one under-par round of 71 to finish in a tie for 11th in the tournament. Sophomore Devin Carrey finished the day at one over-par to tie for 25th, while B.C. Thibeaux shot a two over-par to place in a tie for 34. Rounding out the scoring for the Cajuns were Morgan Landry and Kyle Pritchard. Landry carded a 78 to finish in a tie for 74th, while Pritchard carded a 79 to tie for 82nd. The Ragin’ Cajuns will return to action as they host the Battle on the Bend. The tournament will be played on Sunday through Tuesday, Nov. 5-7 at Cypress Bend in Many, La.
