Golf: Memphis Intercollegiate Day 1 Ragin’ Cajuns Golf Concludes Day 1 at Memphis IntercollegiateMichael Smith and Morgan Landry led the Cajuns tied for 19th. MEMPHIS, Tenn.-Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns men’s golf team concluded play on day one of the Memphis Intercollegiate on Monday in a tie for 13th. The Cajuns finished the opening round in a tie for eighth place, but fell to 13th after sound round play concluded. After shooting an opening round 297 as a team, UL dropped five strokes carding a 302 in the second round of the day. Louisville was the only team that finished the day under par. The Cardinals finished the day at 13-under par – 13 strokes ahead of the second place Wisconsin and TCU. Tournament host Memphis finished the day at 12-over par, 11 strokes ahead of the Cajuns. Juniors Michael Smith and Morgan Landry led the Cajuns after one day of competition. The duo both finished two over par to tie for 19th. Smith recorded the only round under par as he shot a 71 in the second round of the day. Landry was consistent on the day carding back-to-back rounds of one over par. Sophomore Devin Carrey started the day at one-over par with a 73, but faltered in the second round carding an 80. Rounding out the scoring for the Ragin’ Cajuns were Mark Brockhurst and Kyle Pritchard. The pair finished the day 12-over par.
